Yoddha Pyriproxyfen 10% EC is an insecticide that uses the active ingredient pyriproxyfen to control pests like whiteflies, aphids, and jassids by acting as an insect growth regulator (IGR). It disrupts the development and reproduction of pests, preventing eggs from hatching and nymphs from developing into adults, and can also sterilize adult females. It is used on crops such as cotton, chili, brinjal, and okra and is effective against pests through contact, stomach, and translaminar action.
How it works
- Insect Growth Regulator: Pyriproxyfen mimics juvenile hormones, disrupting the insect’s life cycle.
- Affects multiple stages: It prevents eggs from hatching, inhibits the metamorphosis of nymphs into adults, and can sterilize adult females.
- Mode of action: It has stomach, contact, and translaminar (activity on both sides of a leaf) action, which helps control pests present on the plant.
